Advocacy

Faith that shows up where decisions are made.

Four causes run through everything Pastor Jahleel does, in the pulpit, at the podium and on the block. Each one is tied to work already underway in Harlem and across New York City.

The Causes

  • Food security

Food on every table in Harlem

No neighbor should have to choose between rent and groceries.

In action: The Shift Food Pantry, every Saturday at noon starting October 31, 2026, open to all with no questions asked.

  • Young people

A real seat at the table for the next generation

Schools, mentorship and spaces where young adults can belong and lead.

In action: Hope for Harlem's school supply giveaway, The Night Shift Bible study and The Shift Fellowship Choir.

  • Access

Public services every resident can reach

Government information should work on any phone and for people with disabilities.

In action: SCG Digital builds accessible websites for local governments, libraries and nonprofits.

  • Civic voice

Faith that shows up where decisions are made

Bringing churches and neighbors into public life, and speaking up for the people they serve.

In action: Speaking with the National Action Network, and policy work in the Office of the Bronx Borough President.

“Spiritual growth isn’t simply limited to personal transformation, but also community activation.”
